October is National Fire Safety Month!

The Rock Hill Fire Department celebrates Fire Prevention Week with a variety of activities designed to educate parents and kids about ways to prevent fires.

Play games and learn about fire safety.

Coloring & Essay Contests

  • First grade classes in Rock Hill School District 3 participate in a coloring contest, while fifth grade students write essays about a designated fire safety topic.
  • Entries for both contests are judged, and there is a grand prize winner for each contest.
  • Entries are submitted to the teacher and picked up by RHFD staff for delivery to the judges.
  • Judges determine a first place winner from each school, and from these, a grand prize winner is chosen.
  • Essay contest first place winners from each school receive $25 with a grand prize of $100.
  • Coloring contest first place winners each receive a goody bag of fire related safety items with a grand prize of $50.
