Inside Rock Hill (IRH) is a 10-week civics course offered to residents of the City of Rock Hill. This course allows residents to view the City from the inside. Residents are provided with an in-depth understanding of how the city operates, enabling them to learn how to better access City services.

The course is offered during the Spring and Fall and spaces are limited.

Alumni Committees

As a way of keeping Inside Rock Hill Alumni engaged, we have formed three committees that work continuously to educate, communicate and inform our alumni of the constant and exciting changes that are taking place in the City.

Public Relations Committee

Responsible for ongoing communication with the alumni community. The committee works to engage by sponsoring a series of educational and social activities throughout the year to keep alumni up to date on the City’s initiatives and programs.

Reunion Committee

This Committee plans and coordinates the annual gathering of the alumni for a reunion. The event is generally theme-based and designed to be a fun-filled event that brings everyone together for a big community and social event. It is an opportunity to share the IRH experience with family members and friends. The IRH Reunion is usually scheduled for the first Thursday in August.

Volunteer Committee

Since many of the IRH graduates leave the course even more civic-minded and anxious to get involved, this Committee keeps the alumni aware of potential opportunities to serve. They are responsible for recruiting volunteers to participate in City projects, public forums, master planning initiatives and many other activities where the Mayor is interested in hearing the voice of the citizens.

Public Service

Inside Rock Hill graduated its first class in Spring 2004. Since that time nearly 800 City of Rock Hill residents have participated in the program and become ambassadors for the City and its initiatives. Many of our graduates remain active in City activities by serving on Boards and Commissions, participating in neighborhood events as volunteers by providing outreach and assistance where needed.
