Overview

The Information Technology Department (IT) handles all computer, voice, camera, multimedia, phones, electronic controls infrastructure and services for the City of Rock Hill. In addition to the physical day to day servicing, management and control of the data and voice systems, IT also is responsible for all related contracts, warranty, governance and security operations for these city services.

Led by the Chief Information Office (CIO), the department has four divisions:

Network Services Group (NSG)

  • Responsible for City-wide wired and wireless data network data, video and voice communications systems and cyber security.

Projects, Administration & Development (PAD)

  • Responsible for core computer and system administration services, research and IT projects.

Application Business & Operations Services (ABOS)

  • Responsible for operational support for all computer business tools, service tools and applications.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • Responsible for City-wide mapping, asset tracking, geospatial applications and statistical data analysis.
  • Maintains geographic data including addresses, streets, utilities, annexations and zoning.
  • Supports applications that leverage the GIS data.
  • Produces and distributes maps and datasets for use by external entities.
